Fitness Photo Shoot in Death Valley, CA – Dune Runner

This image was photographed out in Death Valley awhile back.  Kimber is a friend, fitness model and long time collaborator.  We had been discussing the concept for awhile and then just decided to drive out to the desert to see what we could come up with. 3 1/2 hour drive from San Diego to Death Valley, shot for two hours until the sun came down and the 3 1/2 hour drive back.  Worth every minute!!

Jessica photographed at El Matador State Beach in Malibu, CA

A few years ago a received a call from Jessica asking me to photograph her.  She was considering moving to Los Angeles from Chicago and wanted to work on her fitness portfolio.  We ended up spending the better part of the day shooting at El Matador (One of my favorite places in LA to shoot) and came away some beautiful images.  I’m glad to say that Jessica made the move and is now a personal trainer at the MECCA (Gold’s Gym Venice).  While I haven’t had the pleasure of training with her, my belief is that the best trainers walk the walk and I think that you can tell from these images that Jess definitely “walks the walk”.

Kimber Photographed at Big Bear and the Mojave Desert, CA

Kimber and I have worked together for a number of years.  She is always willing to stretch herself as a model and an athlete to get amazing images.  Both of these shots were done as personal projects.  For the for the first shot we drove 3 1/2 hours from San Diego out to the Mojave Desert, shot until sundown and drove back another 3 1/2 hours.  I think it was worth it.

The second image was shot in Big Bear, California.  Kimber, my good friend Topher Morrison and a small group of expert climber spent the day in Big Bear shooting stock imagery.  I was synched in about 60 feet up for about 3 hours while they took turns climbing.  I’m not a climber so I really had to work on my fear of heights.  I’m happy I did.

Kimber is the owner of Creatively Spoken and has worked as a professional speaker, on-camera host, voice talent, reporter and live presenter for over a decade.
